Application Checklist
Thank you for your interest in the Augsburg College StepUP Program. What follows are the
necessary steps for applying to the College, to StepUP and to the CLASS Program (if applicable).
You must be admitted to Augsburg College and accepted into StepUP to become a StepUP
participant. Participation in the StepUP program is based upon a first-come first-served basis.

Admissions requirements are listed on the admissions website and varies for first-year students,
transfer students and international students. All admission inquires and questions should be
directed to the Admissions Office. All application components for your Augsburg College
application should be submitted directly to the Admissions Office. Prospective students of
Augsburg College and StepUP may make arrangements through Admissions for a campus and
StepUP tour.

Admission requirements for StepUP are listed directly on the StepUP website. Students apply
should be actively pursuing a healthy recovery program.
Individuals seeking to begin the application process to StepUP must complete the StepUP
application form prior to their interview with the StepUP Admissions Coordinator. Scheduling an
interview can be done by contacting the main office line listed above. Telephone interviews are
available for applicants at a distance.
Arrange for 1 – 2 individuals to complete and return the StepUP Recommendation Form.
A copy of a discharge summary from the last treatment facility should be sent directly to the
StepUP Admissions Coordinator as part of your application process.
The Recommendations Form and discharge summary are mandatory and must be submitted
before you will be considered for StepUP acceptance.

Please review the StepUP Student Agreement form prior to applying to the StepUP program. This
is a mandatory agreement signed by each member of the StepUP Community. Portions of the
Student Agreement will be discussed during your interview and will be reviewed and signed
during StepUP Orientation.

All requirements to participate in the CLASS Program are listed on their website. It is highly
encouraged that these services be arranged prior to the semester beginning.

When officially admitted to the College by the Admissions Office:
Follow the directions listed on your acceptance letter to the College to complete the housing

When officially admitted to the StepUP program:
When you have been officially admitted to the StepUP program you will receive a phone call from
the Admissions Coordinator and a written letter signed by the Program Director. All new StepUP
students must attend the StepUP Orientation along with any required orientations conducted by
the College. Students should enroll in all courses prior to orientation. It is highly encouraged that
students enroll in GST140 during their first semester. This course helps develop study and note
taking skills, time management & scheduling and other important components to help become a
successful college student.
