Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions Roanoke College seeks a skilled admissions professional to fill an Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director position. The successful candidate will join an experienced and productive admissions operation that consistently meets or exceeds enrollment goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: extensive travel to high schools, college fairs for approximately 10-12 weeks per year, assisting with on-campus and off-campus programs, event planning, extensive telephone and email follow-up, interviewing students and families, application review, presenting the College to the public, and the ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings until the task is accomplished. The successful candidate must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm for his or her work and the ability to take initiative. He/she should show commitment for working as a team member and/or independently as situations require. The successful candidate should possess a strong work ethic along with flexibility and creativity. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required along with the use of technological skills in recruitment. An understanding of the value of a liberal arts education is necessary. Bachelor’s degree with proficient computer skills plus one to three years of admissions related experience is preferred.
