The Church Colleges of Education Fund
Monies are available from the above fund to advance the following related objects:


Supporting projects which enhance the Anglican character of church
colleges and universities.
Supporting and enhancing Anglican chaplaincy provision in church
colleges and universities.
In order to qualify for consideration for a grant, projects must advance one or both of those
objects and also meet the following requirements:
1. The projects must emanate from, or be located within, or be in partnership with,
 one or more of the Church Higher Education institutions currently in
membership with the Cathedrals Group which has an Anglican component
 the National Society
 the Archbishops’ Council Board of Education.
2. Applications must be made on the form provided.
3. The Vice-Chancellor(s) or Principal(s) of the Church College or University involved
must indicate his/her support of the project by countersigning the application form.
Applications involving the National Society or Board of Education must be
countersigned by the Chair or chief officer.
4. The objects of the fund are to enable the enhancement of Anglican ethos and
chaplaincy.
5. Grants will be made for a maximum of three years.
6. Reports must be submitted to the Church Universities Advisory Group on an annual
basis detailing the progress and impact of the project and alerting the committee to
any difficulties arising in the execution of the project.

Application Procedure.
1. Application forms available from Revd Dr Stephen Heap, National Higher Education
Adviser (contact details below) and from the Church of England Web Site.
2. Grant applications will be considered annually at the March meeting of the Committee.
Applications must be submitted one month in advance of the committee meetings.

4. Please write a clear, concise account of the project for which you seek
support (no more than two sides of A4), including a statement of its likely
outcome. Please use a separate sheet if you prefer.
5. Please explain how the project is relevant to the Fund’s objects
6. (i) How much will the project cost overall?
(ii) What amount are you applying for from the Church Colleges of
Education Fund?
(iii) What other sources of finance have you applied for and what progress
have you made with those applications?
(iv) If successful, when would you like funding to begin?
(v) Over what period would you like the money to be paid?
7. Please give one referee who can vouch for the relevance of your project to
the Fund’s objects and for your capability of undertaking it.
