Position: LSP Scholarship Program Job Title: LSP Program Director Reports To: IIE Regional Director Division: D662 Location: IIE MENA Region Office Effective Date: Immediate hire Position Summary As part of the United States – Egypt Higher Education Initiative, The Local Scholarship Program (LSP) is a USAID-funded program that offers comprehensive undergraduate scholarships to talented and deserving Egyptian youth to attend private universities in Egypt. Through degree programs in a range of in-demand fields of study, Englishlanguage training, leadership development, civic engagement, U.S. study abroad, and career preparation, LSP will equip selected Egyptian students with the skills and knowledge to advance the country’s social and economic development. The LSP Program Director will facilitate the overall supervision, communication, and coordination of all LSP Scholarship Program activities as outlined in the award document. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The LSP Program Director is responsible for overall management of the LSP , making certain that program goals and objectives are met. Position will serve as primary liaison to USAID and will provide overall technical, management and financial oversight for the program. Position will provide leadership and direction; set clear strategic vision; oversee fiscal and procurement integrity; confirm high quality and timely submission of deliverables; and facilitate coordination with USAID/Egypt, the Government of Egypt as well as other donors and partners. Duties include: 1. Supervises the program team members as follows: Prioritizes, organizes, distributes, and coordinates the flow of work. Trains, guides, and advises staff. Assists with problem solving, crisis management and technical guidance. Ensures that Code of Conduct and other corporate and applicable policies, procedures, and schedules are adhered to. Makes recommendations concerning employment, termination, performance appraisals, salary actions, and other personnel actions. Resolves routine operating problems as they arise. 2. Manage the program’s day-to-day activities against the implementation plan. 3. Coordinates activities with government and line departments, local government officials, other implementers, stakeholders, and institutions active in the target areas. 5. Coordinates the development of, implementation of, and timely reporting on the program. 6. Travels to the field program sites as required and appropriate. 7. Undertakes all other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time. 8. Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures 9. IIE may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time. 10. Performs other duties and functions as assigned. Education/Experience: 1. Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) with experience in education, youth development, business, leadership or related field; 2. Minimum 8 years technical and managerial experience in a related field; 3. Preferred experience working on USAID-funded projects; 4. Preferred experience managing large educational, youth development or other related programs in the MENA Region; 5. Knowledge of the local Egyptian social and business entrepreneur sector both NGO and corporate; 6. Knowledge of the Egyptian educational system; 7. Must be fluent in the English and Arabic language; 8. Proven leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively and cooperatively within a team environment. Skills Required: 1.
