Syllabus fo r RT 98 Magnetic Resonance Imaging Component SANTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY RT 98 - SPECIAL STUDIES Objectives: This Special Studies course is designed to give the advanced radiologic technology student the opportunity to study and be tested on materials in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This self-paced course is also designed to assist the registered radiologic technologist in obtaining continuing education in all areas of knowledge as related to radiologic sciences The following multimedia programs are required of those students who choose to take the Magnetic Resonance Imaging component: C 123 Radiographic Contrast C 128 Radiographic Density C118 Fundamentals of MRI will familiarize students with basic physics and safety measures of this modality. CD 27 Sectional Anatomy for Radiographers V132 Magnetic Resonance: An overview V418 MRI Magnet Safety: Warning! Invisible Force. A Special Studies application must be completed and signed by appropriate persons (student, program director, and Dean of Instruction). 2. Pick up a Special Studies form in Health Sciences Administration Office - . 3. For each credit unit, you are to complete five titles of the available material. These specific titles must be spelled out on the Special Studies form. 4. Schedule a time(s) when you would like to work on this project in the Health Learning Resource Center, Room 4039. 5. You must have your student ID in order to view material in the Health Learning Resource Center. Report to the Doyle Student Center to obtain an ID. Attached are two roll sheets which MUST be turned in to the program director at final period. 6. Your grade will be based on the following: - Attendance 48 hrs (for each credit unit) - A term paper (for each credit unit) - Final examination 40% 30 % 30% This term paper should summarize the subjects, their efficacy, and the learning experience you have acquired through this course. This final paper will be graded based on grammar, organization, and expository skills. The instructor will give details abou the final examination, that must be taken during the Finals week. 7.
