On Friday 28th March they will be led by St Augustine’s School. Exposition will also take place on Thursday at 11.30 am, before the 12.15pm Mass, as well as the usual Monday after the Eucharistic Service at 12 noon till 3.00pm. There is a full list available in the Church. PENITENTIAL LENTEN SERVICE FOR THE CLUSTER Tuesday 25th March at St Augustine’s at 7.00 pm CONFESSIONS – ST AUGUSTINE'S Saturdays 10-11am. Please note on Saturday 5th April 10-12 noon. PENITENTIAL LENTEN SERVICE - ST MARY’S CATHEDRAL Saturday 5th April 2014 at 12 noon followed by individual Confessions and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until Benediction at 5.00 pm. PASSOVER-SEDER CELEBRATION This will take place on TUESDAY 15th APRIL at 7.00pm. There will be 100 places (with a little bit of leeway), but we do ask that if you wish to come, please take a ticket in order that we can plan the catering, (a small supper in the tradition of the passover with wine or juice). There is no charge, but a donation on the night is appreciated. If you haven’t attended before it is a good night with plenty of ritual and songs. LENTEN ALMS APPEAL – ST CUTHBERTS CARE This year they are supporting the Hardship Fund for the two Catholic nursing homes, Holy Cross and St Catherine’s within the Diocese. You can donate via ourselves (lenten envelopes) or online at www.stcuthbertscare.org.uk CLUSTER NEWS LENTEN TALKS – ST WILLIAM’S Pope Francis encourages every Christian to rediscover the joy of a personal encounter with Jesus and to engage with renewed vigour in the Mission of spreading the joy of the Gospel and becoming spirit filled evangelisers. LIVING WATER-LIGHT-RESURRECTION – DAYS OF REFLECTION FOR LENT: On Saturday 12 April at St Thomas Aquinas Parish Hall from 10.30am-3.30pm. This day is particularly aimed at people preparing to be received into the Church but will be of interest to anyone wishing to take time out for prayer in Lent. There is no charge for the session. Envelopes are available for the next financial year – at the back of Church for those who contribute this way. Please do not use them until Sunday 6th April 2014. If you attend any other Church within the Diocese you can use your offertory envelope and it will be sent back to the originating parish. If you would like us to reclaim some of your tax back (name, address, signature is all that is required) please give me a ring Barbara Morgan in the office 266602 or email info@staugustineschurch.org.uk and a form will be sent out. For every taxpayer who contributes this way the parish can reclaim 25p for every £1 that is placed on the collection plate. Last year we received an additional £9,220. If your circumstances have changed and you no longer pay tax we need to know, likewise if you have a new address. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY – 27TH APRIL St James Church, Hebburn with Fr Jeff Dodds. We also have a selection of weekly catholic newspapers. It is well worth a visit. SAINSBURYS – ACTIVE KIDS 2014 If you aren’t collecting these vouchers for your own children/grandchildren, please accept them at the checkout and put them on the collection basket on a Sunday and they will be shared between Paradise Playgroup/St Augustine’s School/Carmel Academy. We are therefore looking for somebody to mow the lawn in front of the Church on a regular basis. We do have a petrol lawn mower and are able to dispose of the grass cuttings. BRASS CLEANING If anybody could help with cleaning all the brass candle stands ready for Easter, the Church will be open on Tuesday evening 1st April at 6.30pm.
