Dear First Grade Parent/Guardian,
The purpose of this communication is to make you aware of an ‘extra help/homework assistance’
offering at the Doyle School. On one day during each week of school, a teaching staff member will
be available to provide extra help to a First Grade student. This extra help period will take place
following dismissal until 3:50 PM. Any students participating in this program must be picked up via
the Main Entrance of our school at 3:50 PM. The intent of this program is to provide necessary
remedial instruction, and to provide assistance with the completion of homework as necessary. It
should not be expected that all assigned homework will be completed within the meeting time as the
amount of homework varies daily. Teachers will be providing instruction in areas identified in need of
improvement.

In order to participate in the program, you must send a communication (note, e-mail) to your child’s
First Grade teacher on the day of the extra help program.
In the event of an early dismissal of school related to inclement weather, the extra help session will
be cancelled.
