SPRING TERM
2009
Wintry Weather
Hopefully we will soon see an end to the snow. Although the school was closed for one day and some
events have had to be cancelled, we have managed to struggle through without too much disruption to
children’s education. Our thanks to parents for getting children along to school even when the weather
has been difficult, and also to staff, all of whom have managed to get in every day.
To put the record straight, we did not close the school last Friday. Although, because of the deteriorating
weather we did put a message out encouraging parents to take children home, we stayed open throughout
the day.
Red Nose Day, 13 March 2009
The school will be participating in Red Nose Day. We will be raising funds for ‘Comic Relief’ by
inviting children to wear mufti on 13 March; by selling red noses [from 23 February onwards] at £1 each;
and by asking children to sponsor a teacher to sing. More news about these, and other Red Nose
activities, after the half term break.
Taster Session for School Meals
We are having a taster session for school meals on 3rd March at 2.45pm when the school caterer will
provide a sample of three main courses and three desserts for parents to try. Any interested parents are
invited to come to the hall to taste the food before picking up their children at 3.15pm.
Members of Cambridgeshire Catering will be available to answer questions. If you would be interested in
attending the taster session please give your name to a member of staff in the school office by Tuesday 24
February. We hope many parents will take this opportunity to sample the quality of the food on offer to
our children.

Half Term Break
Next week, Monday 16th - Friday 20th February, is our half term break. Children return to school on
Monday 23 February.
