Goal: To provide students with relevant and

Students learn to use problem-solving skills in order to improve existing products and invent new
ones. Students learn about the design process, to perform research and analysis, the
importance of teamwork and to utilize engineering standards technical documentation.
Course 1: Introduction to Engineering
Exposes students to the design process, research and analysis, teamwork, communication
methods, global and human impacts, engineering standards and technical documentation.
Students use 3D solid modeling design software to help them design solutions to solve proposed
problems.
Course 2: Principles of Engineering
Students will investigate engineering and high-tech careers while employing engineering and
scientific concepts in the solution of engineering design problems.
Course 3: Civil Engineering & Architecture
As students learn about various aspects of civil engineering and architecture, they apply what
they learn to the design and development of a property. Students use 3D design software to help
them design solutions to solve major course projects.
Health Science Academy
Upon the Completion of this program students will have:
• Allied Health Assistant certificate
• Student will also be able to sit for the Certified Nursing
Assistant Exam
• Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals
• Department of Health HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, and
prevention of medical errors education requirements
• Be eligible for Florida Bright Future's Gold Seal

Criminal Justice Academy
The NBH Criminal Justice Academy is partnership program with Florida State University, Panama City
Campus.
It is the desire of both schools to instill students with an enthusiasm for the subject matter and to
develop an understanding of the fundamentals in this broad field of study.
This program is designed to prepare students for the collegiate level of study and develops critical
thinking skills which are vital to any career path.
Courses: Criminal Justice Operations I, II, III, and IV
Coursework Includes:
Guest speakers- Deputy Sheriff, Drug Task Force, Teen Court, State Attorney, Judge, FBI Agent, Secret
Service Agent, Forensic Scientist, just to name a few.
Hands on learning- video production of legal issues, mock trials, design a prison, debate issues, work a
mock crime scenes, hands on and virtual forensic labs.
