1 Amended Grading Scale December 13, 2011 BALTIMORE CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Review of 2011 Grading Policy Changes 2 The grading policy and regulations shifted the district from numerical grades to letter grades, in line with many surrounding districts, colleges, and universities City Schools is committed to supporting and rewarding students who pursue more challenging coursework. As a result, the weight for Honors classes have increased from 1.06 to 1.10, and the weight for AP/IB classes from 1.12 to 1.20. City Schools has added an A+ to the grading scale in order to reward student work that reflects a high standard of achievement.
