• Revelation comes from the Latin word
‘revelare’ which means ‘to remove the veil’
• In Christianity it means the realisation of
something which was previously unknown,
God.
• Revelation is communication from God to
humans; it is how humans understand God.
Individuals learn certain ‘truths’ about God:
– his nature
– his will for humanity
– his rules
