Buck Wedge
(YDW Tight Formation)
Buck Tight 30 Wedge Right
On Snap:
BB side steps and secures snap and gets in the wedge.
QB steps back with left foot hands off to BB and lets the WB go by as he keeps his near arm inside and then boots
backside. Get eyes on DEMLOS and run like you are trying to get away from him and get vertical to the end zone.
WB/TB cross over step and accelerate to the near hip of the QB and flash fake and sweep strong side. Get eyes on
DEMLOS and run like you are trying to get away from him and get vertical to the end zone.
SSWB: free release and block first backer inside. If backer attack the wedge go vertical and block the first defender
to cross your face (SAFETY).
Buck Tight 28 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB flash fake and get to wedge and run like you have the ball.
QB steps back with left foot and let BB go by and hands off to WB as he keeps goes by then boots backside. Get eyes on
DEMLOS and run like you are trying to get away from him and get vertical to the end zone.
WB/TB cross over step and accelerate to the near hip of the QB and secure hand off. Stay flat at 75% of full speed until you see
daylight on the outside hip of the wing back and then go vertical to the end zone. The hole is in between the butt of the PSWB
and the PSTE.
PSTE and PSWB: ARC block. PSWB walls off DEMLOS by attacking his outside arm pit/hip and as contact his made
(LEG&TURN) he wheels his hips outside. PSTE releases under the PSWB and accelerates looking to kick out the first defender
to show (CB) and if no one is there he turns up field and goes vertical to the end zone (don’t ever look back sprint to the end
zone and any defender that attempts to cross your face wall him to the inside to create an alley for the runner up field).
Buck Tight 17 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB flash fake and get to wedge and run like you have the ball.
QB steps back with left foot and let BB and WB by then boots backside. Gain depth until you pass the PSTE and get vertical to
the end zone.
WB/TB: cross over step and accelerate to the near hip of the QB and flash fake and sweep strong side. Get eyes on DEMLOS
and run like you are trying to get away from him and get vertical to the end zone.
BSTE and BSWB: INFLUENCE ARC block. PSWB fakes the walls off DEMLOS by acting as if he will attack his outside arm
pit/hip and runs through the heels of the backers inside getting to the play side and works up field and seals any defender coming
from the back/inside to the inside. PSTE releases under the PSWB and accelerates looking to kick out the first defender to
show (CB) to freeze the backside linebackers and safety (often at this age they will flow to the PSTE and TB faking sweep).
PSTE: LEG & TURN the DEMLOS (PIN). This is often a very easy block because this is only run when we see the DE on this
side of the play pinching down or squeezing in to attack the BB Wedge or chase the TB/WB sweep. Once he does this is a very
easy block. Great play with an athletic QB with speed.

Fenton Wedge
(YDW Tight Formation)
Can be run from
NOVA as well
Fenton Tight 20 Wedge Right
On Snap:
BB cross over step and cross the face of the DEMLOS into the flat at a depth of 0 to 3 yards of depth. Sell the route for as long
as possible.
QB steps back with left foot hands off to WB going into the wedge then reverse pivot for depth of 4 to 5 yards until you pass the
DEMLOS (DE) and attack the LOS. Fake bootleg action make it look like you are really running and reading the RUN-LOWHIGH read for as long as possible.
PSWB free release and get your eyes on the first backer inside as you move inside step with your inside foot and go vertical for
two steps and then break outside at 45 degrees and sell the route as if you are getting the ball.
BSWB: on SET you flat motion (keep shoulders square to LOS and shuffle so that your hips stay behind the QB’s heels so you
can receive the handoff into the WEDGE). When your inside hip gets to the heels of the near guard the ball will be snapped and
you will get the handoff into the wedge.
Fenton Tight 18 Wall Wing Pass Right
On Snap:
BB cross over step and cross the face of the DEMLOS into the flat at a depth of 0 to 3 yards of depth. Flash fake handoff and get into
wall.
QB steps back with left foot hands off to WB going into the wedge then reverse pivot for depth of 4 to 5 yards until you pass the
DEMLOS (DE) and attack the LOS. If you have daylight run the ball and get vertical to the end zone right now. If the BB is open throw
the ball (get your eyes on him as soon as you start gaining depth). If the BB is not open look high to the WB running the wall & corner.
This is a RUN-LOW-HIGH read at anytime you have daylight up field run the ball.
PSWB free release and get your eyes on the first backer inside as you move inside step with your inside foot and go vertical for two
steps and then break outside at 45 degrees and look for the ball as soon as you make your break.
BSWB: on SET you flat motion (keep shoulders square to LOS and shuffle so that your hips stay behind the QB’s heels so you can
receive the handoff into the WEDGE). When your inside hip gets to the heels of the near guard the ball will be snapped and you will
get the handoff into the wedge.
Fenton Tight 47 Wall Right Reverse Drag Pass
Run first to
Pass!
Notes:
BB runs flat route to opposite side.
QB drop steps left foot faces WB lets him flash fake
and reverse pivots and bootlegs backside as the BSWB
goes by on the outside handoff the ball to him.
PSTE: PIN (WALL & TURN) DEMLOS
BSTE: inside release and runs through heels of ILB and
runs a drag (12 to 15 yards depth).
BSWB: drop step and run reverse take outside hand
from QB. If you have daylight outside go vertical and
run the ball. Otherwise wait for the BSTE to clear and
throw the ball to the outside and let him run to it.

NOVA as well
Rocket Tight 30 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB lead steps off of backside hip of QB, secure handoff and get into wedge .
QB reverse pivots and as you face backside hand off ball to BB and continue with spin and snap far shoulder towards the
rocketing WB while you keep your hands in your belly to fake the pitch. Continue around and run at the outside hip of the PSOT
and go vertical as if you have the ball to the end zone.
WB cross over step and aim for a spot four yards behind the BB and accelerate to full speed. Flash fake as if securing the pitch
and stay flat at 100% until you see daylight past the WB’s wall off and inside of the PSTE’s arc block and go vertical to the end
zone. This fake is imperative to the rest of the series as you must place pressure on the DE, CB, and OLB to expand with you.
PSTE and PSWB: ARC block. PSWB walls off DEMLOS by attacking his outside arm pit/hip and as contact his made
(LEG&TURN) he wheels his hips outside. PSTE releases under the PSWB and accelerates looking to kick out the first defender

BSTE: release through the near linebacker’s heels and gain depth once you pass the center work up field and seal off up field
pursuit.
Rocket Tight 28 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB flash fake and get to wedge and run like you have the ball.
QB reverse pivots and pitch the ball to the BSWB behind the PSOT, continue to spin and aim for the outside hip of the PST and
go vertical as if you have the ball to the end zone.
WB cross over step and aim for a spot four yards behind the BB and secure pitch that will be behind the PSOT. Stay flat at
100% of full speed until you see daylight on the outside hip of the wing back and then go vertical to the end zone. The hole is in
between the butt of the PSWB and the PSTE.
PSTE and PSWB: ARC block. PSWB walls off DEMLOS by attacking his outside arm pit/hip and as contact his made

Rocket Tight 14 Wall Right Up Pass
Basic Progression Read:
QB sets and looks at WB running
swing route. If CB and/or OLB
don’t expand to cover throw it now
to SWING route. Lead him down
field. If CB and OLB expand throw
it to the WB running the SIT route
to his inside arm pit now!
Built in HOT READ: WB
running SIT. If you see
blitz coming from OLB on
play side throw it now to
the WB.
Advanced Progression:
As above but QB during
SIT READ peeks to
WHEEL and if he is open
throw it to the outside
shoulder. If the triangle is
not open throw it to the
drag near the boundary
now!
On Snap:
BB flash fake and sets up on the inside hip of the backside tackle and walls off any defender coming at the QB from the outside
hip of the OT.
QB drop left foot and explode left hip and shoulder hard to fake the toss (keep ball in belly) and then convert into two step drop.
WB/TB cross over step and accelerate to gaining depth so that you go through the heels of the BB and run a swing route. Sit in
that spot if the ball does not come and float up field slowly facing the QB (don’t wheel this at all).
PSWB: outside release and get inside of OLB and sit in the first open void (get no deeper then 1 yard behind the LB level) and
present numbers to the QB. Be ready of the ball as soon as you plant and turn.
PSTE: release under the PSWB and as soon as you pass the WB go vertical with and outside angle. Accelerate as soon as
you go vertical. BSTE: release through the first backer inside heels and climb as you go play side so that you are at 12 to 15
yards depth as you reach the play side boundary.
Jet Wedge
(YDW Nova Formation)
Jet Tight 30 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB secure snap and lead steps aiming for center of the wedge.
QB let the jet motion WB flash fake in front of you and go by then aim for the outside hip of the far OT and get vertical to the end
zone. You must sell that you have the ball.
WB on SET you cross over step and sprint in front of the QB making a flash fake as you go by you must be at full speed as you
cross the QB’s face. Stay flat at 100% until you see daylight past the WB’s wall off and inside of the PSTE’s arc block and go

pursuit.
Jet Tight 28 Wedge Right Arc
On Snap:
BB flash fake and get to wedge and run like you have the ball.
QB as the jet motion WB crosses your face hand the ball off, let him go by and then aim for the outside hip of the far OT and go
vertical to the end zone at the first daylight you see. This must be a great fake.
Motion WB: on SET you cross over step and sprint in front of the QB and secure hand off as you go by; you must be at full
speed as you cross the QB’s face. Stay flat at 100% until you see daylight past the WB’s wall off and inside of the PSTE’s arc
block and go vertical to the end zone. As soon as you see daylight get vertical you don’t want to be EAST/WEST for to long.
