Sections of the course Basics of good quality research. What research is all about, considering all the factors, search for the truth, hypothesis testing, the research cycle, principles of experimental design, reducing the errors, data quality control. Scientific writing skills. Recognising whether you have good quality science, different types of scientific papers, impact factors, journal instructions for authors, how to sell your science, recommendations for Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, different ways of presenting data, Discussion, the abstract, improving the English, the refereeing process. Poster presentation skills. Points to consider for posters, identifying the pros and cons of different poster styles, information to put in a poster, identifying what makes a good poster.
