Process
1) The Academic Requirement
 Academic route

9 courses, 70% overall, no less than 65%
 Alternate Route
 Executive Program Route
2) The Membership Requirement
3) The Exam Requirement
 The National Knowledge Exam (NKE)
4) The Experience Requirement
 3 years of HR experience at the professional level
5) Degree Requirement
National Knowledge Exam
(NKE)
3 hour exam
Multiple choice format
70% required to pass
Offered in May and Oct (register 2 months in
advance)
• Exam is developed by CCHRA via their Independent
Board of Examiners and is administered provincially
• When the NKE is successfully completed, members
can call themselves “CHRP Candidate” as long as
they retain HRPA membership

• PNG has several networking opportunities; one

Mentorship
• Our chapter offers a mentorship program geared
toward less experienced HR professionals to gain
knowledge from more experienced professionals
• Mentor/Protégé is required to meet once a
month for 3 hours

Annual Student Reception
• Yearly event; this year’s reception is January 18,
2012 the HRPAGVC recognizes its student
members
• Reception recognizes student members and
mentorship program participants (mentors and
protégés)
• Students, protégés and mentors are invite to
attend the reception
Volunteering Opportunities
• Involvement with the HRPAGVC is encouraged
and is an excellent networking opportunity
• Volunteer opportunities range from committee
participation to assistance with major events
