What is better for our country, mandated (required) CSR or Voluntary CSR?
In my opinion, having a voluntary CSR is better for our country, since not everyone
who has a business is capable of doing such responsibilities as these businesses may
have started not long ago and their capability to do things for other people is not yet that
high. If mandated CSR was pushed through, some businesses that are on verge of
bankruptcy may not have a chance to rise again. On the other hand, most businesses
subsequently perform CSR even though they are not yet that booming in their field of
business. We know for the fact that performing CSR has a lot of benefits not only for the
receivers but also for the business, like having a good reputation which may draw
attention from customers. Meanwhile, for other businesses who are already soaring in the
field of their industry, there is a high chance that they would still perform CSR since they
have the ability to do and still can benefit from doing such things.
