Introduction
The scope of HRM is comprehensive and includes all functions under the banner of human
resource management. Here are some pivotal functions:
a. Human Resources Planning: The process where the company identifies vacant
positions and determines if there is staff excess or shortage. It then addresses these
needs.

on a job and provides an extensive description of every job role in the company.
c. Recruitment and Selection: Based on job analysis, advertisements are prepared and shared on various platforms, a process called recruitment. Subsequently,
applications are evaluated, interviews conducted, and appropriate candidates are
selected.
d. Orientation and Induction: New employees undergo an orientation or induction
program to acquaint them with the company’s background, culture, values, work
ethics, and their colleagues.
e. Training and Development: Employees receive training to enhance their job
performance. Existing staff might also receive refresher training to further refine
their skills.
