Research the definition of the following terms:
1. Assessment for learning-Includes 3 types of assessment (Placement, Diagnostic,
and Formative) done before and during instruction. This is NOT GRADED.
2. Assessment of learning-This is done after instruction. (Summative) This is
GRADED.
3. Assessment as learning-This is done for teachers to understand their role of
assessing FOR and OF learning. Teachers should undergo trainings every now and
then. For students, the goal is for them to become self-directed and independent
learners.
4. Formative Assessment- To monitor the learning progress of the students during or
after instruction. Reinforces successful learning.
5. Summative Assessment-It aims to determine the learner’s mastery of content or
attainment of learning outcomes. Usually given at the end of a course or unit.
