Cite an instance where you experienced any of these situations in your life.
As what I have experienced in life so far, given these any situations that I indeed encounter,
one thing that I always may undertake is the manner of “Don’t interrupt when two people are talking.”
I remember this situation every time when my parents had a visitor and when people came by to our
house or even, we are passing by for a walk on a street and people have a conversation together with
my parents. If my parents have any conversation with other people, I tend to go to my room or give
them space and do not disturb them since I was out from what they are talking about and it is none
of my business to get involved with it, I only tried to speak and talk when I was asked and questioned
and when they needed my response. I always recall what my mother and father taught us all the time
that if they are talking to any other people, we should not partake and intrude with them unless we
are allowed to speak and we are asked by a question that was needed by us to respond. They told us
that it was a sign of respect and not being disrespectful and impolite to other people particularly the
elders. It was at that moment where I realized that it creates a big impact to me and my parents of
how people perceived and think about how I was raised and how my parents raised us to be a
disciplined individual. Hence, this basic kind of good manner was always engraved in myself that if
there are two people who were talking or if people are talking, you should not and do not interrupt
with them.
How did you feel about doing or not doing it?
Based on what I have experienced with this kind of situation “Don’t interrupt when two people
are talking,” honestly, the moment I did it, is that I felt good, proud, respectful, considerate, and
especially more positive to be more appropriate and see situations in good things. There is this kind
of emotion and realization that even in the smallest things we do, it creates a big impression and
influence to yourself and to other people also. It might be a simple manner that we ought to do but it
is a great part to improve our character and be that person with discipline outlook in life and in people.
On the other hand, in contrast of not doing it, is that I felt bad of myself about it and feel awful from
not doing the right thing. It is very unpleasant to me to disrespect other people and I feel very impolite
by neglecting the manners that were taught by my parents. I realized that my action of being that kind
of disrespectful may held accountable and will be blamed towards my parents by other people
wherein people may think that I was raised poorly and unrespectable. What I’ve learned so far is that
we need to be careful with our actions and be morally upright who knows what’s right from wrong.
