Rafael Q. Macasias BFAC02 (OPERMGT) Module 1 Frito-Lay Production 1. What type of production process do you think Frito-Lay employs? Explain briefly why you think so. (in 100 words or less) - The type of production Frito-Lay employs is the continuous production system. After watching how Frito-Lay make their chips, it goes in a continuous process where every potato is peeled, sliced, and go through a machine/conveyer to the frying stage. It is basically one continuous route from being a freshly harvested potato to a bag of potato chips. There was no checking of any “defect” although there is a separate conveyer for those chips that were under or overcooked. It is not like mass production where after a specific stage, it is being check for quality and go on to the next step and so on until final product.
