Assignment 1: Defining Quality The definition of quality is to satisfy the customer’s expectations. It is a crucial part of the process of setting up the target of the organization. Leaders have the strong commitment and responsibility to approach beyond the goals or achievement, be it the internal climate while the employees take part actively and encourage each other to attain the desired aims of the company. Thus, it is important to work on the quality of the organization. Leaders are the messenger in the company, and they connect the systems of the quality across the firm through workers. As it is said, “Balance is the key” and the amazing leaders have that quality of balancing between efficiency, organization forethought, and mentality. They influence others by showing up their integrity, bravery, humility, and attentiveness to their team. Quality leadership is a precondition for developing better management. How a successful organization structures and guides an organization and how they act within a company are important components for the effectiveness of a great quality management process. The quality leader recognizes the need for reliable strategies to enhance customer loyalty and, ultimately, to 'come out on top' in the marketplace. However, instead of being aware of the dynamics at work, there is a willingness to act at the conceptual level. This sort of activity can result in a company's downfall. For a customer-focused company that includes those workers in quality improvement, quality control can be outlined as a management framework. Statistics and effective communication are used to connect quality discipline into the firm's values and norms. W. the Quality Leader Edwards Deming's theory supports my viewpoint. He worked in the Western Electric Hawthorne and under many U.S government jobs. He was also knowns for his prominence in the management of a system for quality, his ideas were based on implementing the statistics for ongoing improvement. In Japan, he was described as a national folk hero, as he used to give lectures on statistical quality control among the scientists and Engineers after World War II. Deming was focusing more on providing high-quality products and services to the customer to take inspire more companies to act at the higher levels of performance, which thus, occurred in the U.S. Deming was the only leader who trusted “Continual never-ending improvement” among all the leaders. I implemented this mantra in my life too, which means that journey is important, and, in the journey, we must work better than past which describes the quality improvement. As a result, Deming did convey a message to all the leaders that a learning culture must be carried out in the firm to make people strong elements of the organization and as an individual. Unfortunately, leaders struggled to fight the battles and had to secure the system in the end. Deming also came out with the idea of the PDSA Cycle for Improvement. This cycle is to deal with the causes, Deming made changes to the problemsolving of Shewhart’s approach which is known as the Plan Do Study Act. First is the Plan stage, which points out the ongoing issues and works on it to fix the issue, secondly the Do phase, this turns the plan into action, third is the Study phase, which means to get knowledge and learn about the results which include the process and completion of the experiment and the last is Act, this includes getting into the right direction to observe, conclude the learnings from the research of the planning and get into the exclusive plan. In conclusion, for me what values the more is the individual’s participation in the organization, do actions on the required development of social culture. The organization is dynamic, it keeps on changing by the trends including the environment which makes it secure. Thus, leaders have a great hand in developing the community with various values and behaviors for long-term vitality. My definition of quality leader combines the very well-developed set of initiatives engaging different levels of the corporation but with great resources which will encourage workers to achieve their goals.
