Up, Up, UP with cups Instructions: Working as a team you will build two structures adhering to this rule: YOU CANNOT TOUCH THE CUPS WITH YOUR HANDS! 1. Use the yarn to stretch the rubber band around the cups. 2. Stack the cups into a 3 level structure (see pic above) and time your team each time. 3. Repeat 3 times and record your time in the chart below. Average your time. What was your best time for the 3 levels? 3rd try Average 2. Why do you think your group had a better time for that try? 3. What was your best time for the 6 levels? 4. Why do you think your group had a better time for that try? 5. How did your team improve each time you did the challenge? 6. Explain any difficulties you experienced with building your structure. 7. How were your results similar and/or different from other teams in the class? Each group will write their average time for each activity on the board. Each student will then create a graph that displays this data by creating either a bar graph or line graph. Be sure to label the x and y axis and give your graph a title.
