Power System Protection You are given a task to design and develop an overcurrent protection of a radial distribution system as shown in Figure 1 by using any power system software available in the faculty (PSCAD, CAPE or etc.). Note: a) Set the rating on your own for each equipment. Clearly state all the power system data such as generator rating, transformer rating, cable size, cable length, load, any assumptions used etc. Hint: You are required to do fault analysis and load flow to determine nominal and fault current. b) Your report must include part, i. the suitable current transformer (CT) rating, please discuss about selected CT and attach the datasheet link. ii. Over Current relay Plug setting (PS) and Time Multiplier setting (TMS). iii. Clear calculation must be shown. iv. Then from the simulation, please include the power flow and three phase short circuit analysis. v. Proved that the operation of the relays during fault was successful. (relay trip in the right place at the right time.) vi. Finally, 3 minutes video presentation is required to explain the project. 1 3 2 Figure 1 Hint: step need to follow 1) network selection value 2) Load Flow and fault Simulation 3) CT selection 4) O/C calculation 5) Simulation on relay discrimination Group of two Due date : 30/12/2020. Progress update will be done by Lecturer through online short meeting.
