MICROBIOLOGY
Microbiology is the branch of science that deals with the study
of microorganism.
Microbiology term was introduced by French chemist Louise
Pasture (1822-1895).
Microorganisms are those organisms which can’t be seen
through naked eyes but can be seen through microscope.
Importance of Microbiology
By knowledge of Microbiology a CHO can: Make an idea about spreading of infection.
 Know about the surfaces which are susceptible to
infectious agent.
 Keep instruments aseptic.
 Recognize symptoms of an infection.
 Take care of an open wound.
 Recognize the type of infection at its early stage.
Types of microorganism
1. Bacteria
