Your “unknown” assignment is designed to allow you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have
learned in class. Please put time and effort into your report and presentation. This does count as your
final exam in Microbiology this semester. Your lab report must be typed in Times New Roman, 12 font
and double spaced totaling 4-8 pages in length (not including the title page or reference page). This
paper must be paper clipped to the back with your name and unknown letter on it. You will not be
allowed to look at your paper while you give your presentation. You should be able to demonstrate that
you are confident about what you have done to figure out the name of your unknown bacteria;
therefore, discussing your methods and reasoning should be easy.
