Federal University Wukari, Nigeria CGPA: 4.40/5.00 PRIOR RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s research project Supervisor: Andefiki Ubandoma Thesis title: Prevalence of malaria and typhoid fever co-infection and the haematological profile of patients attending hospitals in Wukari, Nigeria. Outcome: For the first time in the study location, it was shown that there is a high prevalence of malaria (88%) and typhoid fever (64%) co-infection (56%). The study also demonstrated that there are notable effects on blood parameters as a result of the co-morbidity. For instance, some of the participants were anaemic (25%), 5.4% had leucocytosis, 21.4% with lymphopenia and 8.9% of the co-infected participants had monocytosis. Neutrophil, eosinophil and basophil levels were also determined but were found to fall within the normal range in all the participants. WORK/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE a.
