Working with a partner, create four trading cards, two for gods from “The Earliest
Heroes” pp. 95 – 118, and two from “Stories of Love and Adventure” pp.119 – 158.
(Groups of three—one in each class—will do six trading cards.) You may use Edith
Hamilton’s text, or any other source to research the stories, but you must
include a works cited naming all sources with your finished assignment.
Write your name and your partner’s name on the BACK of each card (I will provide
paper.)

For the FRONT of your card, find and paste a COLOR picture of a painting or
sculpture from classical or neoclassical art that represents the story. The picture
must be at least 4” x 4”, and must fit on the card provided. Underneath the picture,
provide the title of the painting or sculpture, the artist who created it, the date it
was created, and the on-line address where you found it.
On the BACK of the card include (word processed, 12 points academic font) the
following information:
• Names of the Gods, Heroes, Lovers involved
• Names of their parents – if applicable
• Summary of their stories—be certain to explain what creation myth the story
explains, the actions of and interested Gods, minor gods, etc.
• Picture of what the story explains, i.e. the myth of Europa explains the naming of
the continent of Europe.
Attached to each set of cards, provide a correctly formatted MLA works cited and
