Becoming Pebbles
Oh no, my face is going to hit the pavement I thought as I watched the black
ashvault racing towards my eyes. This is one of the few moments I remember vividly
about the accident. The seconds leading up to that point happened too fast. The
moments after the initial impact are a blur, either because how quickly they happened,
or because I passed out. But that moment where I saw the oily, dirty pavement racing
towards my face and then felt the impact are etched into my memory like a horrible
Fortnite dance.
