Please, consider the following when taking a paint box or a spray can to a rubbish bin: Aerosols: Aerosol cans are empty when no swashing is neither heard nor felt when the can is being shaken, no fizzing is heard, and no propellant or any other substance is coming out when the valve pin is being pressed. The plastic cover and the valve pin should be removed from the recyclable can if possible The empty aerosol can is taken to the same rubbish bin with other metal and package waste. Empty aluminium and tin aerosol cans are recyclable. Paint boxes: 1. Metallic paint boxes are suitable for recycling provided that they are empty and “brush dry”. 2. A hole should be punched in the bottom of the cone shaped paint boxes to ensure ventilation and to thoroughly empty the boxes. 3. Metal caps are taken to small waste metal collection points separately. The cap should always be removed from the can. 4. Large batches originating from professional use are delivered to a separate waste metal collection point or to a scrap business. Half-full aerosol cans and paint boxes containing wet paint should be taken to hazardous waste collecting points. If an aerosol can is not entirely empty, it is advisable to save the can for further use, or give it to somebody else to be used as aerosol remains useable in a can practically forever. 2(3) The above information, based on laboratory tests and practical experience, has been proved valid at the date marked on the product data sheet.
