DESCRIPTION:
A hydrolytic self-polishing tin-free antifouling paint, which contains a special
copper acrylate copolymer, developed using a patented technology of Nippon
Paint Co. Ltd.
Produced by Coatings WEG in association with Nippon Paint Co. Ltd.
INTENDED USES:
It is specially designed for medium and high speed and high-activity ocean-going
ships and long voyage ferries. Ecoloflex SPC series ensure excellent and longterm performance and fuel saving.

APLICATION:
Mixture:
This is a one-component product and must be homogenized completely by mechanical or pneumatic
stirrer. Make sure that no pigment is retained at the bottom of the vessel.
Dilution:
Depending the applications method, dilute at maximum 5% in volum e.
Recommended diluent: Antifouling Diluent.

SURFACE
PREPARATION:
The surface for application must be dry, free of any contaminated form as: salts, oil, grease, dust and
etc. Wash with fresh water as appropriate. The surface must be always coated by primer and/or
appropriate sealing. The WEG Ecoloflex SPC 200 product must be applied in the specified
overcoating time. Consult WEG about the best primer or sealing to be used.
Maintenance and Repair:
The application of the product WEG Ecoloflex SPC 200 over other Tri-Butyl Tin Free WEG products
or other manufacturer must not be done before consult Coatings WEG. Any application without
consult is not authorized.
Limitations:
The painting length is directly proportional to the applied thickness. The product performance depends
of the specified film thickness. The performance can be affected if after 3 months of the applied
product, the surface will not be immersed. The inform ation about overcoating is supplied as
orientation and may change with the climatic variation. The performance test results was obtained in
our laboratory over controlled conditions and Coatings WEG do not guarantee that the result showed
here or any other tests, represent exactly all ambient results found, as exaggerated pollute water,
rivers and others. Once the factors of the environment can present variation, take care with the
selection, verify the performance wished using this paint.
APPLICATION
PROCEDURES
Do not proceed when relative humidity will be upper than 85%, other side, can cause spots, during the
drying.
Only apply if the substrate temperature will be more than 3ºC over drew point.
The wearing rate depends of the water temperature, the board speed, the operation area, etc.
The product WEG Ecoloflex SPC 200 must be applied on the overcoating drying time as specified on
the drying information in the Technical Bulletin.
SYSTEM AND COMPATIBILITY: Consult WEG to the best compatibility of the antifouling with the
anticorrosion protection system.
PERIODS WITHOUT APPLICATION: Wash all material and equipment with WEG Marine Diluent.
Keep all non-used coating in the vessel well blocked. All material disposed in a vessel partially full,
can show “skin” or increase the viscosity after long period of storage. For this cases, we recommend
to filter the product before apply.
WELD: If occur weld or cut operations in the metal coated with WEG Ecoloflex SPC 200, will occur
smoke and gas emission that will be necessary to use the appropriate security equipments, ventilation
systems and right fan.
SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS:
Handling, dilution and the use of paints during the painting and drying process shall be carried out far
away from flames, sparks or excessive heat and in ventilated rooms since they are flammable
products.
Contact with the skin may cause irritations.
If swallowed, do not provoke vomit. In case of eye contact, rinse the eyes under running water. In any
case, seek immediate medical attention.
Do not smoke in the working area.
Make sure that electric installations are perfect and that they will not release sparks.
Do not wash the skin, hands or other parts of the body with solvents or thinners. Wash your hands
first with alcohol and then wash them with running water and cleaning pastes. Use a skin restoring
protective cream.
In case of fire, use CO2 or chemical fire extinguishers. Water is not recommended to extinguish the
flames caused by the burning of paints.
Paints and thinners shall be stored in ventilated rooms and protected against inclem ency. The storage
temperature may vary from 10 to 40ºC.
If intoxication symptoms are caused due to inhalation of solvent vapors, remove the person
immediately from the working area and bring him to a ventilated room.
In case of unconsciousness, call for a doctor right away.
