Member of the Board of Directors Colin Mitchell Born and raised in Calgary, Colin graduated from the University of Calgary in 2005 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), and earned his Chartered Accountant’s (CA/CPA) designation in 2008. As a senior manager in KPMG Enterprise’s Calgary Audit practice, Colin has over 11 years of experience working with companies of different sizes from small owner-managed businesses to large national corporations and public sector entities. Colin works as an auditor and advisor with clients in a range of industries including energy services, gaming and lotteries, non-profit organizations, public sector entities, construction, financial, retail and manufacturing. Colin routinely delivers education seminars to external parties in the areas of financial management and governance, and develops and facilitates training for KPMG Calgary’s Audit practice. Colin has been a Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary, where he taught audit fundamentals to students at the Haskayne School of Business, and volunteered as a guest lecturer with the EasyAce Tutoring Society to assist students in reviewing introductory accounting concepts. Colin has also assisted the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now CPA Canada) in marking examinations of new nationwide CA/CPA applicants each year. In addition to working with the Calgary Sexual Health Centre, Colin volunteers as the Board Treasurer for the Calgary Underground Film Festival and Cinematheque Calgary Society, as he has a passion for promoting good governance in not-for-profit organizations making significant contributions to our Calgary community.
