BOOK FAIR IS THIS WEEK! rd November 30 , 201 5 Ms. Back, 3 Grade Dear Parents and Students, Happy Monday! I hope you had a happy and relaxing Thanksgiving break with family and friends. Students, if you completed the Thanksgiving bonus packet, please return it to school this week. Then before winter break, students who did complete the extra work will have the opportunity to eat their lunch and watch a movie or do other activities in the classroom during lunch/recess. Report cards were sent home Friday, November 20. After you have had a chance to review your child’s report card, please sign the report card envelope and return both to school this week. Over the next couple of weeks, students will be taking mid-year local assessments in both reading and math. These are district tests to measure student growth since the beginning of third grade. These tests will be taken on the computer. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep, eat y and arrive to school on time. Also encourage your child to do breakfast, his/her best work. Students, keep practicing and reviewing concepts studied first trimester in math. Please remember too how important fact fluency is. Practice not only first trimester facts but the facts we are working on in class now. In order to be considered fluent in math facts, students need to be able to answer a fact correctly within three seconds. Therefore, regular practice of all math facts is crucial.
