THANKSGIVING BREAK NO SCHOOL: NOVEMBER 23-27 Ms. Back, 3 rd Grade Dear Parents and Students, November 16 , 201 5 Happy Monday! I hope you had a relaxing weekend! We are back to a regular week. As a result, the homework packet will be due on Friday. Report cards go home this Friday, November 20. After you have had a chance to review your child’s report card, please sign the report card envelope and return both to school after Thanksgiving break. Students, keep practicing and reviewing concepts studied first trimester in math. Also, to become fluent, please practice math facts daily. We will continue to practice multiplication and soon division fluency. Second trimester students will need to know multiplication facts for 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Therefore, if students are not Independent with facts for 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, and multiples of 10, they will need to continue to practice these at home as well as the new facts practiced in class. Several students have signed up for XtraMath. Information on the program was sent home with the y multiplication/division fluency packet given at conference time. XtraMath begins with addition and subtraction which will help with multiplication and division. If you need another copy of the sign up information, let me know. Please remember, in order to be considered fluent in math facts, students need to be able to answer a fact correctly within three seconds. Therefore, regular practice of all math facts is crucial. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great week!
