MARKETING EDUCATION PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Marketing Education Program at Capital High School is a dynamic one to four year program that
integrates academic concepts and hands on applications to build a strong marketing foundation.
Through assignments, quizzes, tests, hands-on projects, presentations, videos, guest speakers, student
store experience, DECA activities and field trips, students will gain knowledge of marketing and how it
relates to the business world and entry level skills to be successful in a marketing career. The
component parts of the program and curriculum are:

Students successfully and gainfully employed in a marketing related field for a total of 360 documented
hours per school year will receive one full credit.
(180 hours per semester = .5 credit)
DECA
(Year 1, 2, 3,4)
DECA is an Association of Marketing Students for all marketing students. The purpose of CHS DECA is to
provide members with classroom and community opportunities that deepen the understanding of
marketing, leadership qualities, social awareness and a sense of responsibility to school and community.
In addition to the many activities tied to classroom curriculum, there are a wide variety of social,
leadership, educational and community activities available to all students in the marketing program.
