Marketing FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) What will I learn in this class? Instruction, Discussion, Notes Textbook (no, you don’t have to check one out ) Online Text Videos Guest Speakers Field trip opportunities DECA, DECA, DECA!!!! How will I be graded? In class assignments, activities and projects Individual and group projects Participation! Marketing is an interactive topic and participation in class discussions will be part of your overall grade Frequent quizzes Unit Tests (not so frequent) Mastery learning approach on quizzes and tests (80% and you are good to go! ) Opportunities for redoing some work/quizzes/tests that fail to meet standard Presentations, both group and individual (we’ll start with group presentations first ) Your grade will be based on what you know and can do in Marketing (assessment of state standards), as well as how actively you engage in class A A- 92.5% – 100% 90% - 92.49% B+ B B- 86.5% - 89.99% 82.5% - 86.49% 80% - 82.49% C+ C C- 76.5% - 79.99% 72.5% - 76.49% 70% - 72.49% D+ 66.5% - 69.99% D 60% - 66.49% F below 60% What are the expectations of me in this class? Attitude, respect and effort are most important! Respect yourself, Mrs. Fabritius, your peers and the classroom equipment at all times! Participate and show effort! Come to class! Be on time and ready to learn. Attendance is very important as this is an interactive, hands on class Keep an organized notebook of all Marketing Materials If absent, check the board for what happened and ASK for missing work. It is YOUR responsibility to take care of this. Inform Mrs. Fabritius of planned absences and arrange for work. Late and missing work is generally not accepted except in special circumstances Absolutely NO CELL phones in class or they will be taken away and turned into the office. Earphones are ok during individual work time but NOT during instruction Stay focused on Marketing. Don’t bring work from other classes and expect to do it during this class Do your own work. Plagiarism and Cheating will result in zero grades and Academic Integrity Forms filed with the office (see the student handbook for the specifics of this policy) What can I expect from Mrs. Fabritius? A great attitude and enthusiasm for marketing and teaching A genuine attempt to keep things relevant, interesting and valuable Respect for you, your ideas and values An attempt to resolve conflicts with you early on but will follow through with discipline (referrals) if necessary Communication with parents Regular feedback about your progress, work graded in a timely fashion I will make mistakes but will freely admit them and try to make it right!
