I encourage you to work together and collaborate when permitted; however, all work submitted
for a grade must be your own original work. I strictly follow the honor code, and you will not
receive credit if you cheat on an assignment.
The following is a breakdown of how assignments in this class will be weighted. There will also
be projects, which will be assigned to a weighted category based on the size and depth of the
assignment. I will always clarify a project’s weight when it is assigned.

Phoenix will reflect your most recent grade in this class. If you have questions, please ask me
before or after school or send me an email 
Homework Expectations:
Students should expect between 45 and 60 minutes of homework for each class meeting. It is
imperative that you keep up with your homework so you can check your understanding on a
regular basis. You should check your answer in the back of the book before coming to class.
Please seek help in the morning before school if you have questions!
Homework will be collected at the beginning of the block after it is assigned. Students should
follow homework guidelines and show all work in order to earn full credit on each assignment.
Homework will be returned the following block, and solutions with work will be provided to use
as a study tool.
Help is available in the morning before school in L506 with Mu Alpha Theta, on Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am available Tuesday and Thursday mornings in L602 after
8:15 and Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 4:20. Please let me know if you plan on
seeing me so that I can be sure to be in my room.
If You Are Absent:
Any time you are absent, it is your responsibility to check my website for any assignments that
were given or due and to see me if you need a handout. Please see me or ask a friend to find out
what you missed before the next class period so you don’t fall behind! If you are absent the day
an assignment is due, it will be due at the beginning of the period the day you return.
If you are absent on the day of a quiz or test, you will receive a makeup version that you will
take before or after school in the math makeup room. The schedule is posted on my bulletin
board and on my website for you to reference. Every effort should be made to make up your tests
and quizzes within 1 week.
Class Behavior:
I expect my students to be on time, prepared, and ready to learn. Please be in your seat when the
bell rings. I also expect each of you to remain active and involved in the classroom. Though I love
student participation, please raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged rather than calling
out an answer, so all students have an equal opportunity to answer. Please only use cellphones
or other technology when required for learning.
Tardy Policy:
Be on time! I follow Stone Bridge’s school-wide tardy policy. It is as follows:
 First time late to class, you will receive a warning
 Second time late to class, I will contact your parent.
 Third & fourth time late to class, you will have lunch/AM/PM detention
 Fifth time late to class, you will receive a referral to the office
Restroom Policy:
I expect my students to use the restroom between blocks. If you absolutely must use the restroom
during class, please sign out by my desk.
Class Website:
All course information, including notes, homework, homework hints, and test reviews, will be
available on my website, http://lcps.org/Domain/18415. If you have questions that haven’t been
answered there, please see me at school or email me at Danielle.Kasprzak@lcps.org!
Again, I look forward to sharing a fun and productive school year with each of you. Please do not
hesitate to contact me at the e-mail address I have provided above should you have any
questions, comments, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Danielle Kasprzak
