Friday, May 6, 2016 Dear Parents, This week, we reviewed the concept of number, added and subtracted sets of objects, learned about spiders, and evaluated living and non-living things. Phew! On Monday, we observed living and non-living things at the Garden Lab. On Tuesday, we read our Shared Reading poem: Nonfiction Itsy Bitsy Spider. Did you know that baby spiders are called: spiderlings? Too cute! You can find out more about spiders by reading our poem on the Kindergarten website. On Wednesday, we learned that spiders are arachnids. They have 8 legs. You can see 4 legs on one side of their bodies and 4 on the other side. Hmmm…how many equal sets is that? On Thursday, we reviewed the similarities and differences between spiders and ants. Spiders are arachnids…but ants are not. On Friday, we invited another Mystery Reader into our classroom. Please ask us to tell you about the story we enjoyed! Have a happy weekend. Love, The Kindergarten Stars
