Community Concerns/ Issue Exploration: (30mins)
- Relationship between SAB and AES
o No formal relationship
o At one point in time was where most faculty of color were, now faculty of color
distributed throughout
- Concern being a communter
o If faculty cancel
o Bring book to class when already on campus at 8:30am
o Seat allocation in Senate
 Trying to be more accountable for seat allocation
 Must have a platform to have a seat
 Beginning next year
 Transition to living groups
o 520 bridge toll – commuters from Bellevue; out of own pockets
 Dr. Sheila is unsure if there’s a discount
 Update about 520 bridge

o Welcome Marissa Herrera!
 Reception Event on the 19th to get to know the Director
 Meet RSO members, open to all community
 Would like to reach out and talk to others
o What is your goal for this quarter?

 legacy groups
 other RSO afflicted with the ECC
 want to be accessible fb, twitter, text, call, email
 Get to know you by name and face
 Have the relationship when big events are coming up
o Any expectations?
 Sab? Be part of our community
 Our expectation to be open – letting her in the community – feel like an
husky
 Teach her about the ECC and everything
 Look out for her – she is still learning

ECC Room Naming
o Survey Outcomes
 Result given out only from SAB
 Have more sab members and then more ECC groups
 Set up an forum
 Eliminating some options to name the other rooms
 Explore why since survey says what people think
 Need more feedback
o Do it before SAB starts to get more people
o Concern: dialogue must come from outside from your officers
o Need to know what your organization want
 People who already filled out does not have to fill out unless they have new
opinions
o Jan 23, 2012: open the survey
 Do it online, or fill out on hard copy
o Concern about the awareness about the ECC
 Why it was established
 Some people don’t identify with the ECC rooms
 Not a lot of people know much about the history
 There is training but only with a few officers
 Never gone through the details
 Project to work with the Student orgs – to put information as a
document for the future
 Voted that there will be a small blurb about the ECC on the survey
