Lab 2 – ArcGIS scripts and extensions
The purpose of this lab is to develop your skills in creating buttons in ArcView and
ArcGIS. In ArcView/ArcGIS there are tools available to perform many different
functions. In this lab you will be asked to add a button on the tool bar and a tool in
ArcGIS that when used will perform some function.
You will search the internet and find a ArcView script and a ArcGIS script or tool you
like and add them to a ArcView and ArcGIS project.
Print the screen showing the added button. Make sure your name and the lab number is
on the turned in lab.
Go to www.esri.com and find a script that interest you and add it to an ArcView/ArcGIS
project. Present a 3-5 minute talk as to how the script is used and then demonstrate the
use on a computer in the GIS lab.
Be prepared to make presentations in one week of assignment .
This is a PASS/FAIL lab. Late labs will be reduced 2 points each day they are late.
