I am seeking your approval to attend PlanetPTC Live in Orlando, June 3-6, 2012, PTC’s premier annual
conference. Featuring a track of educational sessions dedicated to engineering solutions, this event offers
four days of learning opportunities that can make an immediate impact on the entire team’s performance.
PlanetPTC Live is my best opportunity this year to ask questions and share ideas with other engineers and
PTC product experts; learn how to use PTC technology tools more effectively; and enhance my skills so that
I can focus on designing better products. It would be impossible for <your company name> to secure more
than 40 hours of education and PTC community networking for a similar cost elsewhere.
As an attendee, I’ll have access to more than 200 breakout sessions, including PTC University seminars, at
no additional cost. I will select from engineering-focused sessions that are the most likely to influence the
efficiency and quality of these projects:

In addition to sessions focused on technical skill enhancement, I’ll have the opportunity to attend bestpractice sessions led by other PTC customers who work in engineering and face many of the same
challenges as our development team. These proven best practices can be applied to our organization as
soon as I return to save us time and improve our design and manufacturing processes.

The 2012 agenda also features even more opportunities to connect with industry experts outside of sessions.
This networking time will allow me to gain – first-hand from other customers or PTC product managers – new
tips, techniques and solutions. Our organization will be able to leverage this support network as needed to
help us overcome new challenges that arise during the design and manufacturing processes.
I’ll also get to try out new technologies in the Solutions Expo, User Experience (UX) Lab and hands-on labs,
to find out how they can help us streamline our work and experience greater returns.
I am seeking <your company name>’s sponsorship for the registration fee and housing expenses during the
conference. I believe these training dollars are a good investment for our company and the team. The total
training expense for PlanetPTC Live is <customize with your registration rate, transportation and hotel costs>
if I register on or before March 19, 2012 – a savings of $100. The detailed cost breakdown is listed below.
Here is an approximate breakdown of PlanetPTC Live costs. Please note that PlanetPTC Live offers a
number of discounts on airfare, ground transportation and other services to attendees, so I will pursue each
opportunity to reduce this cost further.
