Human Resources Specialist III Job Description TITLE: Human Resources Specialist III JOB CODE: 9541 EFFECTIVE DATE: FLSA STATUS: E EEO6 CODE: 3 = Professional/Non-faculty PURPOSE: To provide advanced professional skills and abilities in the operation of institutional personnel services and functions. Responsible for providing assistance with major phases of work in personnel specializing in areas such as employment, benefits, compensation, and training. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs specialized work in employee benefits programs. Assists in the administration of insurance programs. May be responsible for one or two areas of the department such as employment, benefits, training, wage and salary, and job evaluation. Interviews applicants for employment and refers qualified candidates to departments for placement. Administers sign-up procedures and orientation. Audits personnel transaction form and maintains record system. Coordinated and maintains the employee benefit program. Counsels employees regarding insurance and retirement plans. Answer and clarifies personnel policy and procedure questions for departments and employees. Helps maintain the Equal Employment Policy of the Institution in all aspects of personnel management. Performs related duties as required. Assist in preparation of statistical reports. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General review of work performance and results by the Senior Personnel Representative II, Director of Personnel and/or Assistant Director of Personnel. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May provide general supervision of Human Resource Specialist and/or supportive clerical personnel. REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in personnel administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of experience in personal administration. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of personal computer. Accuracy in interpretation of administrative policies.
