Approval of the Minutes – approved Guest Speakers – a. Marty Strand, Bill Rotchford, Randy Hedge, and Kelly Kramp – proposed changes to dining concepts: Wholly Habaneros gluten free diet, Star Ginger Asian food, wings & strings, titan taco change the logo may be something that could be updated, Free samples from both vendors on Tuesday 4:30- 6 and Wednesday April 22 11:30 – 1. STAND just to clarify one of the three will go where Titan Taco is? Answer, yes one option. Popular place good price one or the other keeping more flexibility. Lutheran Student Org, suggest getting removing Pizza Hut from Reeve and place a new option in there. If someone wants Pizza Hut can go to Scotts to get it. Answer: Dinning does not have a solid plan, hear to listen and get student opinions. WAC, like Star Ginger not vegan but friends are and there is little on campus for those that are vegans. PSSA – looks like a simple set up, could add more to B&G as they have lots of space? Answer: B&G has own challenges relocating Mexican may be a better idea. If we choose will be a preset basically dictate what will roll through there not going to make it to waste it. Wildlife Conservation Club: more vegetarian choices, MUN better food and higher costs are students able to use meal plans on it? Answer: can use meal plans and Titan Dollars for the difference. Best bang for buck for Titan Dollars is in Blawkhawk. Commuter students willing to pay higher amount for higher quality food, eat off campus now. Having additional vegan option is a good idea. Reginald Parson – UW System Budget cut proposal and Public Authority Joint Finance Committee have done open forums heard how cuts will impact them, sometime in May UW system and K12 debate on and make amendments goes to govern now until June new joint commission Gordon Hintz and Michael Schwab represent Oshkosh area. Public authority plan on life support not good for those that want it, closest opportunity Jordan and Reggie talked to legislators not an alternative plan with the public authority status some feel too much authority. Governor walker tuition cap to CPI (consumer tax index) well exceeds what the CPI can offer may inflate, nine campus have done it Madison raised tuition on the out of state students have been approved by BOR, cuts to athletics 80 to 100 FTE in numerous ways retirement, proposal certain number 91 people have expressed interest in it, facilities, eligibility and faculty drop on board will it affect academics and the things we need, academic associates. No negative effect in the year two to three years from now next year stay the same on academic side of things, faculty will have to look into reducing programs offerings we have for Point of information retirement from Petra, expanded retired by July 1 – December 31st and that allows for individuals to retire early but meet fall needs assist with continuity and offerings. Two questions for students: what are your concerns questions you have on what is going on OSA or Leadership council cannot effectively represent you until we know concerns: Raise of tuition for grad students looking outside of the state to pay less. MUN: Concerns of cutting programs in the future more than two years towards a program what is my major gets cut. Some academic programs not any huge noticeable changes reduction in selection not as many classes not always a full section available for students to take. Graduate Student Association: Initially a smooth transition what you do find out share it. Rubber will hit the road in June and be as transparent as possible, the UW Oshkosh forward website, minutes, info from system to all things budgets, OSA will make sure you get info from TitanLink and other emails. With the reduction of courses being offered will it affect the amount of time it takes to graduate? Answer: Chancellor wants to see four years, might be a struggle Dean Koker option to keep course selection waiting list and open up sections, and less sections at times choice may be limited but the courses still there. b.
