Leopard Basketball -- set to begin season Temple College men's basketball coach, Kirby Johnson knows how to get results. He knows how to make a team score enough points to win, and that's what it's all about. He's been doing that for the Leopards for 10+ years . Under his charge, the Leopards have been lighting up scoreboards and winning at least 20 games every season but one since 1990 — the lone exception being a 19-win campaign. The Temple Daily Telegram reports that Wednesday, November 1 at 7pm kicked off the 14th season of Kirby ball at TC Gym, the Leopards played Navarro College. It's a fast-paced system that requires its players to possess intensity, skill, stamina and, for sure, humility. Forget about full-time starters and bench-warmers — neither exists at TC. "Probably the hardest thing is getting guys to understand they won't play 30 minutes a game," Johnson said last week. "We're basically two-deep at every position, so it's 25 minutes tops — and that's only if one of the two guys gets in foul trouble."
