TC men fall to Cedar Valley
LANCASTER -- According to the Temple Daily Telegram, the Temple College men's
basketball team fell 88-79 to Cedar Valley Community College Monday night. The
Leopards (3-2) led 53-42 at the half, but were done in by a cold-shooting second half.
The Leopards only eight shots in the second half. "We had a good first half and played
real well consistent and balanced," TC coach Kirby Johnson said. "In the second half, we
came out cold and let them back in the game. We never really hit that hot streak to
counterbalance that." With the game tied at 77 late in the first half, turnovers and fouls
put the Leopards in a hole they couldn't climb out of and Cedar Valley pulled away.
"Right now, we haven't learned to put teams away on the road in the second half," said
Johnson, whose squad is now 1-2 away from TC Gym. Lawrence Ramsey and Bennie
Tate each had 15 points for the Leopards, while Jermaine Green added 14 and Corey
Henry had 10. The Leopards' next game is at 7:30 pm , Wednesday, when they travel to
Brenham to take on Blinn College. TC then hosts Trinity at 5 p.m. Saturday.
