Leopards Fall to Collin County
Plano -- The Temple College volleyball team fell to Collin County Community College
in four games, 15-4, 12-15, 16-14, and 15-7 in a Northern Texas Junior College Athletic
Conference match on Thursday. Mary Reese led the way with 13 kills, 21 digs and four
blocks. Michel Slatter and Jennifer Johnson delivered 11 kills each, and Courtney Fikes
was there for 39 assists. The match lifted Collin County to 8-4 in league play as reported
by the Temple Daily Telegram. "We were up 7-0 and 11-6 in that third game, but a wheel
came off and we just lost the momentum we had after winning the second game," TC
coach Charles Watts said. "Then we fell down 7-0 in the fourth game and just couldn't
dig out of that hole." The fourth-place Leopards, whose record is 8-18, 5-6 in
conference play is already assured a spot in the six-team, single-elimination regional
postseason tournament. They close out the regular season against Hill College on
Sophomore and Leopard-Ex Night on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at TC Gym.
