There will be a PYP parent meeting this Thursday to talk about eportfolios. 2. Writing will continue to take a bigger focus with emphasis on correct sentences and using describing words. 3. If you have not already signed and returned the report card envelope, please do so as soon as you can. What are we learning this week? Math: We are writing and solving addition and subtraction story problems. Reading/Writing: Students should bring home their guided reading baggie and sight word baggie each night for practice and they need to bring them back to school each day. We will continue to work on nouns and character traits. We will be writing stories with lots of description. IB/Social Studies/Science: We will learn about what it means to be a good citizen and will research some historians that exemplified it. We will learn about Benjamin Franklin, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Francis Scott Key. 4. Anytime you notice your child making a number or letter backwards, please show them how to make it correctly and have them fix it. Also, capital letters should only be used at the beginning of a sentence, I, and proper nouns. All other letters should be lower case. 5. I hope you all have a great 2016! 6.
