How is Homework graded?
Homework will be assigned every day with certain exceptions. Each assignment is worth
ten possible points and your scores depend on the percent correct. For example, if you get
73% of the problems correct you will receive seven points out of ten for that assignment.
Late Work: Late homework is discouraged because it is easy to get behind. However, I
will accept late homework up until that current chapter’s test. Late homework will only
be worth half credit maximum. TURN IN LATE WORK SEPERATELY!
Notes:
I expect each student to take notes during class every day. Notes are important and are
the main resource you have to do your homework and study for tests. All notes will need
to be kept in your 3 Ring Binders.
Bell Work: Everyday you will be expected to be prepared when you walk into class and
immediately start your bell work. Bell work will be a short assignment, 2-5 questions,
which will review certain material from previous lessons. After ten days worth of bell
work, you will turn in bell work and it will be worth a homework assignment.
Make-up work: It is your responsibility to get the assignment from the Chapter
Homework Folders in class. Students will have the same number of days to make up work
as the number of days absent. Please remember to turn in your assignment that was due
on the day of your absence upon your return. Assignments for the week will be listed on
the board. It is encouraged to write assignments in your agenda! TURN IN MAKE UP
WORK SEPERATELY!
Cheating: If you are caught copying an assignment, both assignments will be given zero
points. If you are caught cheating on a quiz or test, you will be given zero points and your
parents will be contacted. Also, if you are caught cheating you will have to take finals no
matter your grade.
Quizzes: Occasionally throughout the year I will give quizzes which I will announce before
hand. Quizzes are a great way to test your understanding of material and give you an idea
of what kind of questions will be on tests.
Tests: Normally you will have a test at the end of each chapter and each test is worth 100
points. No makeup tests are allowed unless I decide the whole class needs to retake a
test. I do encourage tests be corrected.
Tutor time: I am generally in my room after school if students need help. DO NOT WAIT
UNTIL TEST TIME TO GET HELP IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING!!!!! I ask that if you know
that you will need help on a specific topic to let me know that you will be coming so that I
can be sure to not plan other activities. Night Library is also available during 6-8pm on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
