Expectations:
Students must follow ALL school rules.
A neat, complete notebook is to be maintained at all times and will be beneficial when studying for
topical/quarterly exams.
Students are to be seated, with their homework on their desks, while working on the “Do Now” activity
when the bell rings.
Student participation is necessary and will be reflected in their grades. When participating, please be
sure to raise your hand and wait to be recognized before asking or answering any questions.
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get the class notes and homework assignments you missed.
Last but not least, courteous and respectful behavior is to be maintained at all times.
Students MUST bring the following to class each day:
A loose-leaf binder to be used EXCLUSIVELY for Math.
3 loose-leaf dividers (labeled – Notes/Homework/Tests and Quizzes).
Loose-leaf paper and graph paper - a great deal will be needed throughout the year!
At least 2 pencils and 2 pens (Blue/Black ink only). Colored pens- to be used to check your work.
A ruler, compass, and colored pencils/crayons/highlighters.
Textbook should be covered and brought to class upon request.
A TI – 83 plus graphing calculator is highly recommended.
Homework:
Homework will be assigned 4-5 times per week. The correct homework number must appear on the
center top of all assignments in addition to having a proper heading: name, date, and details of
assignment. Homework must be completed in order to “keep up” with daily lessons. If the student has
difficulty there must be an evident effort and they must appear for extra help in order to avoid
receiving no credit. One incomplete homework assignment results in a zero. Any assignments given in
class the day prior to an absence is expected upon return. Homework assigned while absent can be made
up promptly after obtaining class notes.
