Reading: We will begin reading our first story in our Reading
book called Pop’s Bridge. We will work on the skills in that story
all week. We will focus on “Conclusions” and
Inference/Predicting.

Keep sending in those Box Tops!!! It’s a contest.

Picture retakes are on Tuesday, October 15. These
are for the yearbook so if you were absent the first
time, plan to have your photo taken that day.

Read for a free Gamecock Basketball ticket was
sent home today. This isn’t anything extra. Just log
the daily reading on that log as well. Win! Win!!
Writing/Grammer: Your leaders will be continuing cursive writing
and learning/applying the “Writing Process” and “Writing Traits” to
their writing pieces. We will also learn about NOUNS (person, place, or
thing). We will learn about Proper Nouns as well-Capitalization.

I have also sent home in your child’s data notebook a
code for them to get on the Math Series website to
practice what we are doing in class. I showed them
what/how to do the activities, lessons, games, and
worksheets. Please keep their sheet in their data
notebooks with their codes and passwords.
Math: We will work on learning/understanding how to add 3-digit
numbers. This skill is always difficult with our third graders. We will
begin Subtracting 3-digit numbers with regrouping as well.

Lots of new Social Studies notes this week. It will
be homework EVERY NIGHT to study the different
Native American tribes of South Carolina.
Social Studies: We will be studying the three European settlers

Ice Cream is sold EVERY Friday.
that came to SC and caused conflict with the Native Americans. Be
sure to keep up with studying the notes during this unit.

