PROJECT TITLE: Catalog Historic Photo Collection at Pipe Spring National Monument and Zion National Park
EFFECTIVE DATES: 6/1/2004-12/10/2004
PROJECT ABSTRACT: Pipe Spring National Monument (PISP) and Zion National Park (ZION) are individually managed units within the National Park System.
Because of their proximity, however, ZION often provides technical support for many PISP museum program projects. The following project is a joint project to
complete the cataloging of the two units’ historic photograph collections. There are approximately 1500 historic photographs at PISP and 10000 at ZION that need to
be accessioned, processed, and cataloged according to National Park Service (NPS) standards. In this process, storage for these collections will be upgraded to acid-free
archival quality conditions and each image will be electronically scanned at a resolution suitable for archival purposes.
