PROJECT ABSTRACT: The
work of this project is the research and writing of a historical account of the establishment,
administration, and management of the three historic sites collectively administered as the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National
Historic Sites. The study will address major events and issues in the history of the sites and include as topics development,
operations, boundary changes, resource management, and external relationships. The study will be a thorough
investigation, utilizing primary and secondary sources and oral history.
